All rugged up to go to a book sale with our lovely friend Gilberto the Great!
We're very excited!
Bargains galore!
Some tables were $3, some were $2 and the rest were $1.
We counted 6 copies of The Da Vinci Code.
I think we counted about the same last year.
I was really quite restrained.
These are what I ended up with.
The Elizabeth Taylor book has some great hair inspiration!
We went back to Gilberts after for a cuppa and to admire our scores.
There's another book sale at a church in Merivale at the end of the month, so we'll be out again with a vengeance. Gilberto has to buy a new bookshelf-or make one. His is ridiculously small and groaning under the weight of many books!
My bookshelf is stuffed, I have no idea where I'll put this lot.
I suppose I really should have a cull........meh!

PS:We watched "Nude Nuns with Big Guns" last night (predictably) and it was awesome!
If you don't mind gratutious nudity, violence etc, it might be right up your alley too!

Hello - I've been admiring the fab vintage outfits for a few weeks so thought I'd say hi at last. Love the purple with all the green; topped off with a superb hat!
Must get round to reading Virginia Woolf - and good find with the Liz book.
Oh what a great book of Liz!! I do love me a good book sale.Lifeline here has one once a year.Glad others see th ebeauty of green and purple together! xx
I adore books too. I need a cull to make some space. That Liz Taylor book looks great. Xx
Love those type of fairs. We use little piles of books as occasional tables in our flat, such is the overcrowding situation. xxx
What fabulous finds, hope you enjoy reading them, I have the same problem, but have started my cull, its made room at least for a few more bargains!
Awesome bright outfit, love the hat with the green! Such restraint on the book-buying front, how did you do it with the prices so cheap?
Is that the Kermit coat making a reappearance? Hurrah!
Looking warm and toasty and fabulous, especially with that gorgeous Pucci-ish hat topping you off like a sweetie on a cupcake!
Books books books galore, the sale looks wonderful and of course you had to stock up. You'll find space for them somewhere. Happy reading!
oohhh i would love to see inside the Liz Taylor book. Happy reading, dee xx
Loving your green look, oddly enough I am buying green wool tops and beads at the moment! (odd as I always buy pinks and purples!)
I want the Liz Taylor book and encyclopedia of sewing as well!
You look so damn smart and artsy in your outfit, and with that armload of books. ;)
Oooo I love a good book sale!
I always see The Da Vinci Code in every single charity shop I go into! As well as a few Titanics on VHS!
Loving the look of Quiches, Pies & Tarts!
Enjoy reading your new books! xxx
Ooo I love second hand book fairs. There was a huge one in Wellington this weekend and I had to drag my bag on the ground I couldn't lift it. You were definitely extremely restrained. I can't help myself at things like that.
I adore a good book sale, the thrill of the hunt and all that. You look smashing by the way!
xo, Bonnie

I love books too ,but forget to read the ones I own.adorar your groovy hat and bright green coat.
have a great time reading amor.
Love the expression on Gilbert's face. I just finished reading Olive Kittredge, very true to a mature woman's perspective on life.
I love you in green and the hat is my fav! I too love books, but boy are they heavy to move. When I moved from California to Oregon I had about 15 boxes that were just books....my back will never let me forget.
